Hi! My name is Marieke and I live in the Netherlands. In
daily life I have a fulltime job as a business analyst for a large retail
company. Although maybe it
sounds boring to you I like my job. But however, I cannot use much creativity.
And with a head full of ideas, a big love for crafts, thrifting and home
decoration and a growing interest in photography, that’s quite a problem. I
studied Graphic Design for one year after I graduated in Marketing at
university. I felt very at home in the Academy of Art, my grades were good and I dreamed about my own studio where I
could make a living of creating beautiful things. But instead of continuing the
study, I quitted and chose for a career in business.
In my free time I’m always busy with DIY projects or
(re)decorating our house. Family and friends often ask me for interior advice
and keep saying they love my creations and style. I felt like doing something
with that and share my projects and vision with more people.
On Sweet September I blog about DIY projects, home decoration, photography and
art made by me or by people that inspire me. I love surfing the web and find
beautiful pictures or creations on Pinterest or Etsy. I already experienced
that keeping a blog updated is quite a hard task when you have to combine it
with a fulltime job and busy social life. I also started a new study in Finance,
provided by the company I work for, so that is extra busy. Why do I always want
to try new things? Anyway, I hope you like my blog although I may not be able
to post something every day like some bloggers do (I am really jealous..). I
